A Little Something From Cessna...

Runway Awareness And Advisory System Service Bulletin Now Available

Cessna Aircraft Company has developed Service Bulletins for the new Runway Awareness and Advisory System (RAAS). Cessna's worldwide Citation Service Center network will install the RAAS system and complete the certification on any Citation Bravo (model 550), Citation Encore (model 560), Citation Excel (model 560XL), or Citation X (model 750).

The Service Bulletin for the Citation Excel was released in July with the remaining bulletins scheduled for release in mid-September. The Cessna RAAS service bulletins offer improved situational awareness to help lower the probability of runway incursions by providing timely aural advisory to the flight crew during taxi, takeoff, final approach, landing and rollout. Using GPS data, RAAS provides advisories based on aircraft position as compared to runway locations stored in the EGPWS database. To accomplish this, the Cessna RAAS service bulletins will activate additional features in the existing Mk V and Mk VII EGPWS computer with 219-219 software or in units, which can be upgraded to 219-219 software.

Cessna Service Bulletins feature factory engineering designed to integrate seamlessly with each Citation system. The Cessna RAAS service bulletins are available through Citation Parts Distribution, the largest supplier of Citation OEM certified parts in the world.
