AD: Airbus A300 Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2012-08-03

PRODUCT: Certain Airbus Model A300 B4-2C, B4-103, and B4-203 airplanes; Model A300 B4-600, B4-600R, and F4-600R series airplanes, and Model C4-605R Variant F airplanes (collectively called A300-600 series airplanes); and Model A310 series airplanes.
SUBJECT: Airworthiness Directive 2012-08-03
ACTION: Final Rule

SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by reports of cracking in the forward lug wing of the aft bearing at rib 5 of the main landing gear (MLG). This AD requires installing new bushes with increased interference fit in the forward lug wing of the aft bearing at rib 5 of the MLG on the righthand (RH) and left-hand (LH) wing. The FAA is issuing this AD to prevent cracking of the forward lug wing of the aft bearing at rib 5 of the MLG, which could adversely affect the structural integrity of the MLG attachment, and could result in the collapse of the MLG.

DATES: This AD becomes effective May 29, 2012.
