Cadet-75 Meant to Protect Novice Jumpers
Rostec State Corporation’s new novice parachute, the Cadet-75, is a round canopy training system to allow each step of the deployment process to be manually actuated. The lack of automatic deployment is designed to focus students on learning proper techniques.
With demarcation between phases of deployment, students can attentively practice separation from the aircraft and freefall skills. The chute is suited for drops from 43 kts to 151 kts, with a total flying weight up to 240 lb. Increased canopy stability allows the parachutist to make a full turn in no more than 12 seconds.
The Cadet line of parachutes was developed by the Polet Ivanovo Parachute Plant, and includes three variations of round canopy. The cadet 75, 100, and 100D are capable of combat parajumping as well as service weapons and equipment. The plant has made parachutes since the early 40’s, when a tailoring and textile mill was converted to soviet military output for the duration of the war. Once metal production was added in 1978, the plant became a full-cycle parachute manufacturing enterprise. It’s one of the largest specialized Russian enterprises in the country, with nearly 100 years of continuous operation.
"The Cadet-75 parachute system demonstrated a minimum safe altitude of 150 meters at an airplane speed of 180 km/h. Descent time on a fully filled main parachute was not less than 10 seconds. The product is successfully undergoing flight development tests, which we will complete by the end of the year," explained Igor Nasenkov, CEO of Technodinamika Holding Company.
