Market Research Shows People Like What Is Planned
Fantasy of Flight owner Kermit Weeks says that his plans for the aviation attraction going forward have been validated by market research conducted by former Disney IDEAS personnel.
In a post on Facebook, Weeks said that he had gotten a very favorable interim report from the group, which has been conducting market research for about seven months.
The group asked questions of three groups, including 306 Central Florida Residents living within 200 miles of the Fantasy of Flight; 297 Tourists who have visited Central Florida within the last five years and have strong interest in visiting again; and 303 Intender Tourists who have not visited Central Florida before, but have 7-10 interest in doing so in the next 5 years.
The survey showed interest in the attractions plans, which includes flight simulators, tours of vintage aircraft, vintage airplane rides, and a "Daily Sky Spectacular."
"Now that we know what people are interested in paying for, we'll not only design the experiences to deliver what excites everyone . . . but in a way that delivers even more based on my vision to create something beyond what they're expecting," Weeks said in the post.
Of those surveyed, he said, 29% indicated they definitely would visit, another 36% said they probably would, and 21% were 50/50. "Obviously these numbers tend to be high during these types of studies because everyone had just been presented with all the exciting information and informative video, so they'll be adjusted conservatively to determine our realistic market to design for."
The full report is due to be finalized next month, according to Weeks.
