2004 DOD Maintenance Award Winners Announced


The Department of Defense Wednesday announced the winners of the Secretary of Defense Maintenance Award for 2004.

The recipients are:

  • Medium Category

United States Marine Corps

  • Large Category

Every year, the Secretary of Defense Maintenance Awards Program recognizes outstanding achievements in military equipment and weapon systems maintenance by field-level organizations of the military services.

Awards are presented in the categories of small, medium, and large units.

As part of the 2004 Department of Defense Maintenance Symposium and Exhibition scheduled for Oct. 25 - 28, the awards will be presented at the Secretary of Defense Maintenance Awards Banquet on Oct. 27, at the Hilton Americas, Houston (TX).

This year’s Phoenix Award winner will be announced at the awards banquet on Oct. 27 and the winner will be awarded the prestigious Phoenix Trophy. The recipient of the Phoenix Award, DoD’s highest award for field-level maintenance, is selected from the six maintenance award winners and is recognized as the “best of the best” field-level maintenance unit within DoD.
