Three Lost In Wisconsin SR22 Accident

Plane Registered To Chicago-Based Air Taxi Operator

Three people are reported lost after their Cirrus SR22 crashed on landing Thursday night at Lakeland Airport (ARV) near Minocqua-Woodruff, WI.

The FAA reports the plane, registered to Chicago-based air taxi operator BlueSky Taxi, went down about one mile from the airport around 7:00 pm Thursday night. The plane had departed Milwaukee at approximately 5:45 pm CDT.

BlueSky's owner did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press.

Few details are known so far, but ANN has received reports of inclement weather and low minimums at the time of the accident.

"It appeared that it was trying to land and may have missed the first approach and was coming back for a second one," Lt. Gary Peske, of the Vilas County Sheriff's Department, told The Associated Press. "There was kind of a misty rain. I don't know if weather was a factor in it."

Identities of the victims have not been released. The FAA and NTSB are at the scene.
