Was Clay Aiken "Beaten Up" By Female Passenger?
It's becoming increasingly evident persons involved with the
hit reality show "American Idol," and airplanes, don't mix.
Three months after judge Paula Abdul allegedly copped a diva attitude onboard a
Southwest Airlines flight, now comes word an "Idol"
finalist was involved in an altercation onboard a Continental
Airlines flight to Tulsa Saturday morning.
No, someone didn't take a swing at Sanjaya. Clay Aiken -- of all
people -- was the Idol contestant in question, reports The
Associated Press. And Aiken reportedly wasn't the one doing the
swinging, or in this case, shoving.
The Tulsa World reported Sunday Aiken apparently upset a female
passenger sitting next to him when he put his foot on her armrest.
The woman reportedly shoved his foot off.
Gary Johnson, special agent with the FBI, confirmed an incident
occurred onboard the flight in which a male passenger allegedly
received a "minor shove" from a female passenger during an argument
over the foot-on-armrest faux pas.
"At that point the flight crew was able to resolve the
situation," Johnson said. He could not confirm the incident
involved Aiken, however.
Fortunately for "Idol" gossipers everywhere -- including, sadly,
us -- Aiken himself confirmed the incident took place, during his
concert in Tulsa Sunday night... when he joked during the show he'd
been beaten up by a girl earlier in the day.
Alexis Higgins, spokeswoman for the Tulsa Airport Authority,
said the passengers were briefly held onboard the plane until the
FBI arrived to interview them.
No arrests were made.
