Embraer and CAE Launch Full-Flight Phenom Sim

Catching Up to Business Pilot Demand

Soon after inking a deal for 100 of their new Phenom 300 aircraft, Embraer has announced next year's launch of their Full-Flight Simulator for the type, allowing cheaper, more efficient training for operators and flight schools.

Announced at NBAA 2021, Embraer-CAE Training Services will offer the sim during the second half of 2022, to be operated by ECTS, a joint venture between the two companies. The announcement comes in a time of increasing business aviation demand, with some operators looking to bolster the quantity of pilots in their ecosystem.

“Our purpose with the new FFS, besides offering our customers additional capacity for training in the U.S., is to bring the latest technological updates of the aircraft and simulation technology, while providing the highest level of service to the market as the number of Phenom 300E deliveries continues to grow,” said Johann Bordais, President & CEO of Embraer Services & Support.

Boasting over 600 Phenoms in operation, Embraer is confident in future demand for another training location. Only 6 locations are in current service, in Dallas, London, and Guarulhos, Brazil. CAE Group president, Nick Leontidis, said "We are happy to help Embraer enhance pilot training.

Through this important initiative we will help meet the growing demand for business jet pilots by combining innovative methodologies, knowledgeable instructors, and advanced simulation technology.

A best-selling light jet for nine years running, the Phenom 300 has been a favorite among smaller charter, private, and airline operators. Single-pilot flight certification makes ferry flights or maintenance trips easier to crew, as well as the overall simple operation needed for approval. After landing, its single-point refueling, air stair, and externally serviced lavatory help speed up ground handling and dispatch.
