Simaero Attains EASA Certification for B737-800 Sim

Upgraded Flight Model Software, Control Loading

French flight simulator company Simaero has received an EASA certificate for their Boeing B737-800 Full Flight Simulator from French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) after a series of improvements.

The biggest change is the upgrade of its flight model software to the newest Block 3.0 Boeing model. Its certification has been revised to EASA CS FSTD(A) Issue 2 including UPRT & Icing, from an Initial Issue status.

Customer-facing improvements include the upgraded Boeing data pack, the upgrade to CDS BP15 with Honeywell Rehost, upgrade to FMC U13, an upgrade to EGPWS with Honeywell Mark V rehost, and full support for upset, recovery, and icing situational training.

The hardware was upgraded where necessary, leading to an improved computing cabinet as well as control feedback and primary loading to the newest Moog BV actuators. The result is the most modern B737-800 full flight sim available in Europe, according to Simaero.

“All these improvements will improve materially the client experience,” said Nicolas Mouté, CEO of Simaero.

“Exceeding our customers’ expectations is our priority and we prove it once again by our investment of more than 1.5 million euros to this Boeing 737 NG Full Flight Simulator. Simaero continues its investment plan and its commitment to customers to provide training services according to the highest quality standards. I am very proud of our technical teams for managing this project so professionally and completing it on time, and thank our partner CAE for their support in this successful upgrade”.
