Gulfstream GII Fuselage To Become A Man Cave

Had To Be Towed From The Hagerstown Regional (MD) Airport To Its New Home

It was certainly an unusual sight. A flatbed truck rolled down Interstates 81, 70 and 270 on Tuesday with the fuselage of a Gulfstream GII in tow ... on its landing gear.

The fuselage of the 1968-model GII had been purchased by Terry Land, a pilot who plans to turn the bizjet fuselage into a man cave, according to the Frederick News Post. He purchased the stripped-down aircraft about six months ago for $3,000. It had been languishing at the Hagerstown Regional Airport for several years, according to the report, and the engines and other valuable parts had already been pulled from the aircraft.

Land talked with some local pilots about the plane, including one who claimed to have flown it. He was told that the plane was used by George H.W. Bush as a campaign aircraft when he ran against Ronald Reagan in 1980.

Now, Land hopes to turn it into a place where he can relax, read and watch TV, according to the report ... which made NO mention of a wife or girlfriend or local zoning codes where Land lives.

Just sayin'.
