Garmin Continues Strong Support of AEA Educational Foundation

Avionics Firm Makes Unprecedented Donation

Garmin, a company that considers itself a strong supporter of the Aircraft Electronics Association's Educational Foundation, has pledged $30,000 worth of panel mounted and portable avionics equipment to be auctioned off at the AEA's 48th Annual Convention and Trade Show next month in Dallas, TX.

"Garmin has long been a proud supporter of AEA's training and education initiatives," noted Tim Casey, Garmin's manager of aviation sales and marketing, who also volunteers his time by serving on the AEA Educational Foundation Board of Directors. "For the future of avionics, these programs are vital in an industry with an increased focus on training."

The Foundation, which gives over $100,000 worth of scholarships each year to aspiring avionics and aircraft technicians, also develops computer-based training, produces technical training and hosts regulatory and business training seminars for AEA members.

The Aircraft Electronics Association represents over 1,200 aviation businesses, including repair stations that specialize in maintenance, repair and installation of avionics and electronic systems in general aviation aircraft. AEA membership also includes instrument facilities, manufacturers of avionics equipment, instrument manufacturers, airframe manufacturers, test equipment manufacturers, major distributors, and educational institutions.
