Man Arrested At Detroit Airport With $78,000 Cash

Laptop Contained Files On Nukes and Cyanide

Police say a man arrested last Tuesday at Detroit's Metropolitan airport was carrying $78,000 cash and a laptop with alarming information.

Sisayehiticha Dinssa's itinerary shows he traveled from Nigeria by way of Amsterdam. He was scheduled for a follow-on flight to Phoenix, AZ.

According to the Associated Press, a drug-sniffing dog alerted on the money Dinssa was carrying. When authorities asked Dinssa if he had any cash to declare he claimed he was carrying $18,000. But a quick search of his luggage turned up another $59,000.

Agents became alarmed when they turned on Dinssa's laptop to be sure it was real -- that's when they saw the chilling files containing information about cyanide and nuclear materials.

At a hearing Wednesday a US Magistrate ordered Dinssa held without bail on charges of concealing more than $10,000 in his luggage.

Prosecutors argued Dinssa is a danger to the community and the Magistrate agreed to hold him until at least Monday. That should give authorities time to get a search warrant and more thoroughly inspect Dinssa's computer.
