Tourism, Charter, Utility Outfit Nautilus Expands Bell Fleet with 5 Additional Helicopters
Nautilus Aviation has placed an order for 5 407GXi helicopters from Bell, bolstering their fleet used in the North Queensland and Great Barrier Reef region.
Bell’s 407GXi is an IFR-ready, 6+1 helicopter that has proven popular with parapublic operators and agencies around the world, to the point that the type has logged more than 6 million hours of flight time across the global fleet. With external load hauling capabilities and bi-folding, clamshell doors, the 407GXi is a solid choice for an operator who can’t know in advance what the next mission will bring.
Nautilus has been a fixture of the Australian helicopter scene for more than a quarter century, building a reputation as a trustworthy specialist for travel throughout the rough, hardscrabble wilderness and beyond. Their position as the largest privately owned helicopter operator in North Australia, Nautilus runs a mixed fleet containing a range of Bell equipment, from a few variants of the 206, the 505, 407, and some newer 412s.
“Nautilus Aviation has been operating helicopters for more than 25 years. Based on our helicopter fleet and steadfast commitment to the safety of all passengers and personnel, we have earned and developed a reputation for quality,” said Aaron Finn, CEO of Nautilus. “The Bell 407GXi helicopter has great all-round visibility for tourism, and we appreciate Bell’s outstanding customer service. After careful consideration of our operational requirements and a commitment to further reduce our environmental footprint, I am confident these new fleet additions will enhance our reputation and position us for growth as the Australian economy continues its recovery from the pandemic.”
