Aero-TV: 5 Questions At Oshkosh -- What's Right with GA?

OK... Let's Start With The Positive Side Of The Situation...

Do we have to tell you that these are difficult times for aviation? After decades of stunted growth, the wiles of a bad economy, tough politics and escalating complication have driven way too many flyers out of the world of flight.

Still... it does have a few things that keep people entranced and that said, let's look at the bright side of the issue before we delve into the problems we face. Over the course of a few days at Oshkosh 2011, the Aero-TV crews took a break now and then to question the attendees about what was truly right about aviation.

We all know that we have problems to fix... but the fact of the matter is that aviation remains a driving force in the lives of hundreds of thousands of people the world over... and for several very good reasons. That being the case, we wanted to spend some time looking at the positive side of the picture, while enjoying the ambience of Oshkosh and get a feel for why people put with all the hassles inherent in the aviation world so that they can keep flying.

If we're going to fix our collective ills at some point down the road, it's good to start with what works, what doesn't need changing and what we can build our future upon... the best parts of the aviation world.
