True Blue Power To Host Lithium Batteries 101 Education Series

First Session To be Held At AEA Regional Meeting In November

True Blue Power will host a series of educational seminars to discuss the safety and utilization of lithium-ion battery technology in aviation. A total of thirteen Lithium Batteries 101 sessions are planned, beginning at the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) U.S. Central Regional Meeting in Kansas City, Mo., November 6 – 8, 2013. Twelve presentations are planned during 2014, including four international events.

“Not all lithium chemistries are created equal,” said Rick Slater, True Blue Power division manager. “We have performed rigorous testing and worked closely with A123 Systems to design and qualify the industry’s most advanced lithium-ion battery systems for aviation. Sharing what we’ve learned during that process is a logical and worthwhile endeavor. Our intention is to promote safety and a better understanding of this emerging and valuable technology.”

True Blue Power is a participating member of the RTCA Special Committee 225, an organization working to develop industry standards for small and medium rechargeable lithium batteries. True Blue Power specializes in the custom design and manufacturing of advanced lithium-ion batteries, emergency power supplies, battery modules, DC-to-AC static inverters and USB charging ports.
