Stuttgart Becomes Satellite Service Center
Continuing efforts to further hone its service capabilities in Europe, Textron Aviation announced an expansion of its Stuttgart line facility as a satellite service center.
The company is expanding investments in parts support, hangar space, and a double-sized engineering team to deliver shorter downtime and increased flexibility to its customers. Services for the Beechcraft King Air series begin this fall, fine news for the aircraft’s 100+ operators in Germany.
Textron maintains general aviation’s pole position in Europe, with more than 1,800 turboprop and jet aircraft operating in the market. Phil Jones, VP of European Service Centers, said “We have strategically enhanced our footprint and capabilities in Europe due to the growing demand for services to ensure access to factory-direct service and support to customers.” The improvements to the Stuttgart center allow Textron to perform the same work as their factory-direct service centers with slightly smaller capacity. Textron’s network spans many more countries for operators on the move, with five company-owned service centers and two additional line stations spread across large cities throughout Europe.
This most recent expansion of service for Beechcraft, Cessna, and Hawker brands follows similar moves in the past, as Textron has consistently expanded the size and reach of its parts support and technical assistance. At the 2019 expansion of its European Distribution Center, they reported nearly 35,000 available part numbers ready for use. To get those parts where they’re needed, Textron provides their 1Call 24/7 support line for “unscheduled maintenance”. With one call, operators can get the assistance needed to return their aircraft to service, with service technicians, parts replacements, and expertise needed to get back in the air within 72 hours.
