Classic Aero-TV: Service & Support Guidelines - The Care and Feeding of a Rotax

From 2016 (YouTube Version): Rotax Supports Their Engines With Training, Information, And Rapid Parts Service…

Anyone who is even slightly familiar with sport aviation and home built experimental aircraft has heard of the name Rotax when it comes to engines. However, they are different from the engines that we are used to in general aviation aircraft in the United States. While at EAA AirVenture 2016, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, talked with the experts at Rotax to find out where information about the engines and maintenance is available.

Jim spoke with Marc Becker, the Aircraft Business Manager for Rotax. Becker starts off by explaining that Rotax service training programs are one of the best ways to get to know the engine. He says that the programs come in various levels of training, and the training is available from the Rotax dealer network.

The conversation moves on to how to get help when help is needed, and Becker says that Rotax has 19 distributors in the United States. He points to these is a good source of information, and he also says the website is an ideal place to go for documents, manuals, and technical information.

This video provides a perfect introduction to how to find more information about the Rotax engines. It also provides some great close-up shots on a variety of Rotax engines.
