Aero-TV: Senator James Inhofe and PBOR2 - Fighting Anti-Aviation Bureaucracies

One Of The ‘Good Guys’, Jim Inhofe, Has Never Relented In His Fight For Pilot’s Rights

Never let it be said that Senator James Inhofe (OK) is shy about expressing his opinions.

While talking with ANN News Editor, Tom Patton, at EAA AirVenture 2015, Senator Inhofe said, “The nature of a bureaucracy is to do things slow, or not get them done it all.” Of course, he was referring to the FAA, but he also said his comment can apply to all bureaucracies.

Inhofe points out that the legislation commonly referred to as the, Pilots Bill of Rights 2, is actually a way to get things done that the FAA simply won’t act on. One example Inhofe sites is the lack of progress on simplifying FAR 23 for the certification of small general aviation airplanes.

During the conversation, Inhofe discusses other issues dealing with the Pilots Bill of Rights 2 and, of course, the issue of changes in the third class medical certification is discussed. This is a short video, but Senator Inhofe talks fast, and there’s lots of information here.
