Angel MedFlight Awards $3,000 Scholarship

Money Will Help Offset Tuition For 20-Year-Old Drew Cochran

Andrew "Drew" Cochran, a 20-year-old junior at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ, has been awarded the Angel MedFlight Scholarship for Excellence in Aviation for 2010. Drew is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science and has earned recognition on the university's Dean's List every semester of his attendance.

"We believe that Drew is an exemplary student," stated Kelly LoCascio, Angel MedFlight CEO. "We were impressed by his commitment to his education. In fact, he works two jobs to cover the cost of his tuition and flight instruction. His drive and determination to succeed in the classroom and in the air make him an ideal recipient for the Angel MedFlight Scholarship for Excellence in Aviation. We commend this young man for his achievement and we wish him all the best."

Angel MedFlight sponsors the annual scholarship through a partnership with the Arizona Business Aviation Association (AZBAA). The award includes $3,000 toward Drew's tuition and a commemorative plaque.

Drew has earned his private pilot's license with a total of 126 hours of flight time. As a teenager, Drew earned the prestigious Eagle Scout rank through the Boy Scouts of America. He has also spent the last five summers working as a swim instructor and lifeguard in Renton, Washington and is described by his supervisor as "a person of great character and ambition."
