Embraer’s Phenom 300 Leads Light-Jet Sales

… for 11th Straight Year

On 22 February 2023, Embraer, the Brazilian multinational manufacturer of commercial, military, executive, and agricultural aircraft, proudly announced its Phenom 300 series of business jets has maintained the distinction of being the world’s best-selling light jet—for the 11th consecutive year.

As cited in the General Aviation Manufacturers Association’s (GAMA) 2022 General Aviation Aircraft Shipment and Billing Report, Embraer delivered 59 Phenom 300 series light-jets in 2022, thereby bringing total deliveries since the type’s certification to an impressive seven-hundred units.

Operated in 36 countries, the Phenom 300 series has accumulated nearly 1,800,000 flight-hours—an achievement that speaks compellingly to Embraer’s reputation for safety, quality, and continual aircraft improvement and innovation.

The Phenom 300’s best-in-class capabilities include a five-occupant range of 2,010-nautical-miles (with IFR reserves); a 9.4 psi maximum cabin differential-pressure by dint of which the aircraft maintains a 6,600-foot cabin at its FL450 service-ceiling; a 464-knot (0.69 Mach) cruise-speed and 533-knot (0.80 Mach) Vne; and a Maximum Gross Takeoff Weight (MGTOW) of 17,968-pounds.

Embraer Executive Jet president Michael Amalfitano stated: “It’s no coincidence that the Phenom 300 is once again the best-selling light jet in the industry. For 11 consecutive years, it has continued its strong momentum in the market and outperformed for our loyal customers—whether through best-in-class range and speed, or by offering the highest residual value of any aircraft in the market. This distinction is a true testament to Embraer’s ability to deliver the ultimate experience to its customers through truly innovative aircraft.”

Additional appointments by which the Phenom 300 has maintained its decade-plus hegemony over the light-jet market include an upgraded avionics suite featuring a runway overrun awareness and alerting system (ROAAS)—the first of its kind developed and certified for use in a business jet—as well as predictive windshear; Emergency Descent Mode; and PERF, TOLD, and FAA Datacom.

Powered by a pair of 3,478-pound-foot Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535E1 engines, the Phenom is at once capable and comfortable, offering passengers a spacious cabin featuring distinctive, Embraer DNA Design; reclining, full-movement seats; discrete temperature zones for crew and passengers; voice and data communication options; an entertainment system; and the largest windows in the light-jet class. Unlike many aircraft its size, the Phenom 300 offers occupants a private, externally-serviced lavatory; and an airstair.
