Careers In Aviation Partners With AWAM, PIA For Scholarships

Aviation Isn't Just About Flying

For most of us, the allure of flying never wears off... from the moment we first saw an airplane, or held the controls. This is why millions of people work in aviation.

But aviation isn't only about flying, Careers in Aviation, Inc. notes. Aviation is an entire world above and beyond. Aviation is aircraft design, systems engineering, test piloting, search and rescue, human factors, air traffic control, jet mechanics, electrical engineering, computer systems, airport management, crash science, space exploration, customer service, and much more.

Careers in Aviation told ANN recently of its partnerships with the Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance (AWAM), Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics (PIA) in offering up to four scholarship awards; and the National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees scholarship award for qualified applicants.

In addition, Careers in Aviation has been appointed to serve as steward of the prestigious Crossfield Aerospace Engineer Scholarship Endowment, named for acclaimed test pilot Scott Crossfield. Crossfield's own career began and hinged on his Engineering degree, the group notes, and helping youth understand the opportunities open to them was a large part of his life.

Careers in Aviation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that aims to assist students to explore the wide variety of opportunities in aviation.
