Applications Being Accepted Through July 25
The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) is now accepting resumes for the position of executive director. The executive director will lead the drive to increase visibility of AMA, improve member awareness, and grow the brand of the world's largest model aviation organization.
The AMA represents nearly 200,000 members across the country. In addition to directing a 60-person staff, the executive director will be responsible for working with an active president and a board of directors to create member growth and retention initiatives, review and improve member services, and lead marketing, advocacy, and outreach programs. The executive director will represent the AMA’s aeromodeling community to national and local governmental regulatory bodies and agencies, and other stakeholder organizations, donors, funders, supporters, and the general public.
Qualified candidates should have a four-year degree in business/management or equivalent work experience, no less than five years of work experience in a senior executive management position with organizational (administrative experience in a membership association preferred), experience managing a professional, technical, and clerical support staff, and experience managing a multimillion-dollar annual budget. Aeromodeling or aviation experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
