AeroSports Update: LadiesLoveTaildraggers Fly-in Canceled

Bad Weather Hammers Sulfur Springs Texas Airport And The Ladies Who Love Taildraggers Shut Down Their May 29-31 Fly-in

Just in case you haven’t been watching the news, the Midwest southern states have been hammered by storms and inundated with rain. The good news is, the drought is over. The bad news for the LadiesLoveTaildraggers Fly-in is that their destination airport did not fare well in the bad weather.

The last word received about damage at the airport included part of the terminal building roof was torn off during a severe thunderstorm, an Ag-Cat cropduster ended up on top of the fuel trucks, and some doors are blown in at the Legend Cub facility.

As if that isn’t bad enough, this part of the country continues to have forecasts for severe weather and heavy rain in the days prior to the Fly-in which makes traveling to the location dangerous. As is the case with many air events, no rain date was scheduled which means no Fly-in this year.

The cancellation of this event has nothing to do with what’s happening for the rest of the year, and you can expect the LadiesLoveTaildraggers members to have numerous events as the weather finally gives them a break. Check out the website below to keep up with what’s going on and what’s being planned.
