Indian Woman Becomes The First To Cross The Pacific In An LSA

Flew Across The International Dateline From Nome, Alaska To Anadyr, Russia

Another record has been set by the WE Expedition as 23-year-old Aarohi Pandit became the first woman to cross the Pacific Ocean in an LSA.

In a Facebook post, the WE Expedition said that on Wednesday, Aarohi and Mahi ... the name that has been given to their Pipistrel Sinus 912 ...  flew for three hours and 50 minutes over the Pacific Ocean and the International Date Line to land in a new country on a new continent on a new day - at Anadyr Russia.

Aahori left Nome, Alaska at 2 pm local time on a Tuesday, and landed at 1:54 pm local in Russia on a Wednesday. What's a day lost when you gain yet.

The WE! Expedition began in August of last year. Aahori and Keithair Misquitta set out to circumnavigate the globe in the Pipistrel in 100 days The effort had to be suspended in Greenland in September due to some terrible weather conditions. Now, the flight has resumed, and the team has crossed North America and is pushing on into Russia.

While in Russia, the team will be joined by Olga Eroshenko, described as a "pilot, adventurer and foodie". Russian civil aviation regulations require a Russian speaking navigator to be on board all VFR flights.
