SpaceCom Announces Partnership With CASIS

Center For The Advancement Of Science In Space Will Play A Major Role In Conference Launch And Development

SpaceCom, the Space Commerce Conference and Exposition, has announced a new partnership with the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) for the November 17-19 event at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.

In support of NASA's goal to create a sustainable, commercial space market, SpaceCom will unite global business executives with international space leaders to explore ways for the medical, manufacturing, energy, communications, and transportation sectors to utilize space technologies and achieve competitive advantage. SpaceCom will also examine ways to optimize the use of the International Space Station (ISS) and other Low Earth Orbit (LEO) applications, as well as suborbital commercial activities.

"We are delighted to play a prominent role in the launch and development of SpaceCom," said CASIS Director of Marketing and Communications Brian Talbot. "SpaceCom is a terrific platform to expand awareness, connect new user communities, and further efforts to diversify the ISS National Lab research and development portfolio."

SpaceCom also unveiled that the event will make an annual financial investment to support Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs produced by CASIS.

"There are many synergies between SpaceCom and CASIS, including our desire to invest in tomorrow's future," said James Causey, executive director of SpaceCom. "The genius and hard work of young scientists, engineers and innovators is essential to the rich pool of ideas necessary for a vibrant industry to blossom. Supporting STEM is a core component of SpaceCom, and by making this contribution, we are joining others in the betterment of our future."

SpaceCom is a three-day event that combines an in-depth conference program with a vibrant technology exposition. The event will feature a keynote from NASA Administrator Charles F. Bolden, Jr., as well as interactive panel discussions and roundtable sessions. The show floor will encompass more than 100 exhibiting companies showcasing the latest technologies. In addition, the Innovation Theater and market-specific Industry Centers will spotlight market round-ups, sponsor presentations, product demonstrations and VIP meet and greets. The event will also include tours of the Johnson Space Center and the Young Entrepreneur's Technology and SpaceCom STEM Awards.
