Bombardier ‘Safety Standdown’ Set For Nov. 2

25th Anniversary of Their Annual Safety Standdown

Bombardier celebrates the 25th anniversary of their annual Safety Standdown, a safety conference  for aviators, owners, and operators with a focus on human factors in aviation.

“For a quarter of a century, Bombardier has led the industry in providing aviation professionals with critical knowledge-based aviation training, and this year’s lineup certainly underscores the concepts expressed in our theme, ‘Learn, Apply, Share,’” said Andy Nureddin, the Bombardier exec taking point on the program.  “For 25 years, the purpose of this invaluable event is to foster a community of aviation professionals who are committed to lifelong learning and to disseminating higher standards of safety and professionalism throughout the industry.”

Speakers at this year's even include recurring faces Tony Kern, Ed. D., Amy Grubb and Dan Boedigheimer Ph. D.  Christopher Lutat, partner at Convergent Performance, LLC will speak on automated airmanship, and Captain Clarke "Otter" McNeace, vice president of Flight Operations and Standards at Aviation Performance Solutions will explore Loss of Control In-flight.

Begun in 1996 as a safety-training event for the Learjet flight demonstration team, the conference became sufficiently reknowned to open beyond Bombardier's customers.  Three years later, the scope expanded further, towards pilots of all types and certificates.  In 2010, Safety Standdown became something of an online safety brand, with past lectures and seminars available for pilots around the world.

Bombardier reports that over its lifetime, more than 10,000 corporate, commercial, and military aviation professionals have attended seminars across the world.  Admission has been free throughout the life of the program.

Running from November 2-3 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Wichita, Kansas.  The general session and selected workshops will be available through webcast.  Bombardier has adopted a COVID-19 vaccine requirement for Safety Standdown 2021.  All participants must present proof of full vaccination to enter the venue, and masks are "strongly recommended".
