CAE Expands Pilot Training Activities To Meet Demand

Will Train Over 600 Candidates For Jazeera Airways, Kingfisher And Wizz Air

CAE is growing its pilot provisioning initiative to address the global pilot shortage. The company recently signed agreements to source, recruit, and train more than 600 candidate pilots for Jazeera Airways, Kingfisher Airlines and Wizz Air over a four year period. The contracts were awarded over the last few months during CAE’s fiscal year 2008.

"We’re delighted that Wizz Air, Kingfisher Airlines, and Jazeera Airways have recognized CAE’s leadership in recruiting and training pilots," said Jeff Roberts, Group President, Civil Training & Services and Innovation. "Over the past 12 months, CAE has already recruited and trained more than 700 pilots through its pilot supply programs. We look forward to recruiting new pilots that will help these airlines continue to grow and prosper."

Jazeera Airways is a low-fare airline based in Kuwait and Dubai that flies to destinations in the Middle East, Europe and India. Under the terms of the contract, CAE will source, recruit and conduct A320 type rating training of trainees proposed to be employed or contracted by the airline. Training will take place in the Emirates-CAE flight training center in Dubai and in the CAE Madrid training centre in Spain.

Based in Mumbai, India, Kingfisher Airlines operates an extensive network to a range of destinations, with plans for regional and long-haul international services. Under the terms of the contract, CAE will source, recruit and train pilots for various aircraft types, including Airbus A320 aircraft. Training will take place in the Emirates-CAE flight training centre in Dubai, the CAE Madrid training centre in Spain, or the CAE Brussels training centre in Belgium.

Wizz Air is a low cost airline based in Central and Eastern Europe. Under the terms of the agreement, CAE will source, recruit and train pilots for Airbus A320 aircraft. Training will take place in the Emirates-CAE flight training centre in Dubai and in the CAE Madrid training centre in Spain.

CAE says its pilot provisioning program is a turnkey service that includes a complete range of pilot recruiting and training services for airlines. CAE is already under contract with several airlines to recruit, train and supply pilots. CAE will undertake a global search for recruits using its considerable international database and leveraging the CAE Global Academy, a global alliance of flight training organizations.
