Airborne-OSH16 Day 3 Redux: WomenVenture!, NTSB on Part 23, CAF Update

Also: An American Airbus Flies To Oshkosh, Mooney Update, Comprehensive Jack Pelton Interview--Part 3

Note From The ANN E-I-C (Guy Who Takes The Blame): By the time that you read this, ANN's staff is either on its way home, at home in a semi-comatose state, or has checked at a home for wayward Aviators for a little rest and therapy. But, as we do each year after Oshkosh, we'll be repeating the amazing week, in sequence, over the next few days so you can catch up on all you might have missed -- as we rest up and get ready for the continuation of our regular news programming on the 8th of August. This is probably the last time we can get away with taking a post-OSH break, so we're going to enjoy it as much as we can...

ANN’s Maxine Scheer attended the kickoff event to WomenVenture, the Women in Aviation Breakfast at the EAA Nature Center.

The breakfast was attended by over 400 aviation enthusiasts, women and men, who were treated to a number of inspirational speakers from women aviation leaders. In this report from the field, ANN news editor, Tom Patton, talks with the NTSB Chairman in a discussion that includes how the FAR part 23 rewrite may affect aviation safety. ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, talks with Mooney to find out that their latest aircraft is about a lot more than just an added door. The first U.S. made Airbus A321 airliner shows up at AirVenture 2016 in the colors of JetBlue Airlines. Made in Mobile, Alabama, it carries the moniker of BluesMobile. ANN’s Jim Campbell, talks with King Schools, and the subject of the new Airman Certification Standards comes up. It’s the third day since EAA AirVenture 2016 opened its gates, and ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell talks with EAA president Jack Pelton about aviation policing its own business practices. Pelton says. “Tough lessons have been learned.” All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
