Announces EASA Certification For TTx
By Kathryn B. Creedy
Textron’s Cessna division announced a 189-pound increase in the payload of the Cessna Turbo Stationair HD during the first day of AirVenture bringing the full fuel payload 1,470 pounds in a standard six-seat configuration or 1,632 pounds in its utility version. Cessna is also offering a nine-place, high-density option.
The enhanced version comes as a result of customer comments and its continuing investment to its product line.
The Cessna Turbo Stationair HD is on static featuring a Garmin G1000 avionics suite with integrated synthetic vision technology and dual 10.4-inch LCD screens, ADS-B Out capability, a turbocharged 310 horsepower Lycoming TIO-540-AJ1A engine and the McCauley three-bladed constant speed heated propeller.
In separate news, the company also announced it received EASA certification for its high-performance Cessna TTx piston aircraft, paving the way for its entrance into the European market. The TTx is now certificated in more than 40 countries.
The 235-knot aircraft features Garmin G2000 all-glass avionics, the most advanced flight deck in its category.
Cessna also booked an increased order for the 19 aircraft from the Civil Air Patrol including 17 Cessna Skylane 182Ts and two Cessna Turbo Stationair HD T206Hs.
Finally, Kent State University took delivery of a new Cessna Skyhawk 172, part of a recent agreement between the two organizations for the new aircraft as well as product support and training. The university currently operates 17 Skyhawks.
