Space Florida BoD Selects DiBello as Interim President

Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp, Chair of the Space Florida Board of Directors, conducted a Special Board of Directors Meeting via teleconference to nominate and vote on an interim president to serve at Space Florida. With a quorum present, the Board unanimously approved Frank DiBello to serve in this capacity while a permanent president is identified.

"In addition to immediately continuing the important work of Space Florida," said Lt. Governor Kottkamp, "Frank's immediate work will include the development and execution of programs designed to retain, grow and expand business in Florida, as well as a workforce retention program specific to Florida's highly-skilled aerospace workers."

The process to search for a permanent replacement was also discussed and will be further developed at the Space Florida Executive Committee meeting May 26, 2009 and presented to the full Board of Directors for discussion and vote on June 24, 2009.

Space Florida was created to strengthen Florida's position as the global leader in aerospace research, investment, exploration and commerce. As Florida's aerospace development organization, it is committed to attracting and expanding the next generation of space industry businesses.
