Aspen Signs First OEM Contract With Liberty Aerospace

EFD1000 To Be Standard In Advanced IFR XL-2 Trainer

Aspen Avionics announced Tuesday it has signed an OEM contract with Liberty Aerospace to provide its Evolution Pro Primary Flight Display (PFD) as standard equipment in the Advanced IFR version of the Liberty XL-2 aircraft.

The EFD1000 PFD will also be offered as an upgrade option to other versions of the XL-2.

"We’re delighted that Liberty Aerospace chose the Evolution PFD for their Advanced IFR XL-2 trainer and touring aircraft," said John Uczekaj, CEO and President of Aspen Avionics. "The Evolution Flight Display in the XL-2 will help train the next generation of pilots on advanced glass cockpit techniques, and attract more people to become pilots."

As ANN reported, Aspen’s EFD1000 PFD achieved FAA TSO and STC certification in March of this year.

"Liberty Aerospace is an innovative company with an exciting product line," commented Mark Ferrari, VP of Sales and Customer Support for Aspen Avionics. "We are looking forward to working with them closely through the development of the XL-2 panel and beyond."
