The Jackson Hole Airport board has voted unanimously to purchase the assets of Jackson Hole Aviation meaning that there will not be a competing FBO at the airport.
Consultants told the board that purchasing the business will avoid redundancies and save space at the airport, as well as provide a revenue stream. While board member Jerry Blann, said he normally would not support such a move, favoring the private sector and competition, the purchase is in the best interest of the airport. The Commemorative Air Force has consolidated the online fundraising efforts of its various units into an program it is calling "The 12 Planes Of Christmas" in an effort to maintain its aircraft. Earlier this year, a Kickstarter campaign was used very effectively for the restoration of the C-47, "That’s All, Brother". The CAF says that many units noticed this, but as many in the aviation market found out, it is not always easy to get people to pull money out of their pockets. A wild YouTube video posted by a group known as 'Rotor Riot' has drawn the attention of police in Delta, British Columbia in Canada. The video shows a drone flying only a few feet away from The Alex
Fraser Bridge, one of the most heavily-traveled bridges in the region. Delta police are studying the video to see what, if any charges could or should be brought against the operator. Police spokeswoman Sharlene Brooks said that there is a serious risk of collision if the drone operator were to lose control of the aircraft. She said that the aircraft could almost certainly distract drivers on the bridge, if nothing else. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
