Wittman Regional Airport Director Announces Resignation

Will Continue At The Airport Through February 24, 2018

The director of Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, WI has announced that he will be stepping down from the post on February 24, 2018.

At least that's Peter Moll's current plan. The USA Today newspaper the Post-Crescent-WI reports that Moll left the door open for an earlier departure. He said Feb 24 is his last day "unless I have something else lined up before that."

Moll did not give any specific reason for his departure, saying he did not want to "go into a lot of details" but there were "a lot of factors that went into my decision."

Moll was named airport director in 2007 after serving for two years as the airport's maintenance and operations superintendent.

Moll was recently criticized by the Winnebago County supervisors for not aggressively pursuing some state and federal grants for a new terminal at the airport. Moll said he told the county executive that it was "time for me to do something else."

County Executive Mark Harris did not respond to a request for comments, according to the report.
