New and Repeat Business Fuels Growing Backlog
The Large Transport Category, VIP aircraft Completions center
of Standard Aero in Dallas, TX, has executed a Letter of Intent
(LOI) and received a Slot Deposit from a Far East customer for
upcoming/near-term VIP completion work on a new ("green") Airbus
Corporate Jet (ACJ).
This aircraft represents AAC's sixteenth green ACJ completion
since 2003, when becoming an ACJ Authorized Completion and Service
Center and represents the third aircraft based in this emerging
economy country.
According to a StandardAero news release, AAC signed an
agreement in early January with a repeat customer for the VIP
completion of that customer's second green aircraft - a Boeing
Business Jet (BBJ). This aircraft represents AAC's twenty-fourth
BBJ completion since becoming an Authorized BBJ Service and
Completion Center in 1998. The aircraft arrives at AAC on or about
August 24, 2011 following the exterior paint application.
"We are seeing a ramp up in business, especially from previous
customers," said Jack Lawless, President, Associated Air Center and
Chief Operating Officer, StandardAero. "Repeat business means they
liked what we did the first time. This is the kind of business we
like to see; satisfied customers who recognize the quality and
craftsmanship of our work and come back for more."
Interior configuration on today's ACJ announcement will consist
of a host of amenities including a large galley for meal
preparation; a master bedroom that easily converts into an office,
with direct access to an adjacent, stand-up shower-equipped master
lavatory; a separate guest quarters equipped with convertible
divan/beds and direct access to their own lavatory; a
state-of-the-art High-Definition (HD) In-Flight Entertainment (IFE)
and Cabin Management System (CMS), and integrated SATCOM,
broadband-capable communications equipment. The unique interior
configuration would accommodate 19 taxi, take-off and landing
(TT&L) passenger positions while still allowing for 16 fully
flat sleeping passenger positions.
