Universal To Showcase Trip Planning Capabilities At NBAA 2008

It's More Than "Just" Weather Info... A LOT More

Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. will showcase how it delivers successful trips to business aviation operators at the National Business Aviation Association's 61st Annual Meeting and Convention (NBAA2008), held in Orlando, FL on October 6-8.

"Regardless of what unique needs operators of business aircraft may have, ultimately the most important characteristic they want from a trip support service provider is to know that their trip will be a success," said Dave Diulus, COO of Universal. "From fuel, to flight planning, to online tools or ground support, we will demonstrate how through our comprehensive service offering we deliver successful trips to our clients no matter the size of their aircraft or where they fly."

Universal's Exhibit #219 will offer interactive demonstrations and presentations covering the company's service offerings and opportunities for face-to-face discussions with Universal experts. Some of the activities and services to be featured include:

  • TSS – Meet face-to-face with trip support specialists from Universal’s portfolio teams including the Charter Management Team as well as members of Universal’s Regulatory Services department for the latest information and news on the issues operators need to know such as new regulations/requirements, security, and more.
  • UVair – UVair fuel experts will be on hand to discuss fuel pricing and availability as well as show operators how they can save money by understanding the different options available to them in the competitive contract fuel arena. Demos will be given for users on a variety of UVair self-serve online tools showing how they can save time and money with fast access to fuel availability, customized online quotes and fuel setups.
  • Universal Aviation – Learn how Universal Aviation provides consistently superior ground support to operators traveling to any of its locations strategically located around world.
  • Trip Tools – All of Universal’s suite of Trip Tools will be available for demos, including:
    • UVTripPlanner 2009 – Copies of the new 2009 Worldwide Edition UVTripPlanner directory, Universal’s comprehensive and accurate pre-flight reference tool featuring worldwide airport data for over 25,000 airports across the globe, will be available at the booth.
    • UVflightplanner.com A pre-release sneak peek of the newly redesigned and enhanced UVflightplanner.com, Universal’s optimized online flight planning system, will be available for demonstration prior to its release at the end of this year.
    • UVdatalink – Experts from UVdatalink, Universal’s comprehensive air-to-ground communication service which supports ACARS through Iridium, will be on-hand to explain how UVdatalink provides users flexibility and an additional option to still utilize the system when outside of VHF range.
    • FlightPak – Representatives will be available to demonstrate how the scheduling software’s recent enhancements allow users to retrieve deleted trips, get crew and passenger passport validity alerts before a flight, verify scheduled crew and passengers against the TSA's Selectee list, get additional FlightPak data through their BlackBerry, assign a maintenance crew to each registry and obtain automated e-mails when they are scheduled on a flight, and receive additional Charter Quote reports.

Universal will host three 20-minute speaker sessions at its Exhibit #219 on Monday and Tuesday. The sessions are open to both attendees and media.

"Our exhibit will also feature a series of speaking sessions featuring Universal® experts who will educate operators on the issues they need to know to help make their trip a success including regulatory services, security essentials and how to save money on fuel," said Diulus.
