"I would be looking at a family of two on one roof and maybe a family of six on another roof, and I would have to make a decision who to rescue. It wasn't easy."

Source: US Navy Lt. Matt Udkow, who was reprimanded and temporarily reassigned after he helped rescue more than 100 New Orleans residents stranded by rising floodwaters. He's back on duty now after the New York Times brought the story to light.
