Spring Turbine Safety Seminar Schedule: PROP

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. Announces PROP 2004 Schedule

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' Aircraft Product Support Division has set the dates for their 2004 PROP Safety Seminar Programs. The 2004 program will emphasize pilot decision-making, featuring presentations and discussions on aerodynamics, engine operations, maintenance test flights, emergency procedures, and error chain analysis.

For MU-2 Drivers -- and Others

PROP 2004 will be the latest in a series of seminars designed for owners and operators of MU-2 aircraft. Since 1994, the event has taken place biennially and has shown continuous growth. PROP seminars are sponsored by MHIA, SimCom Training Centers, and Honeywell Aerospace.

"These events are not simply training programs. They are interactive pilot safety seminars," said Pat Cannon, MU-2 Pilot, Presenter, and Vice President of Turbine Aircraft Services. He continued, "We hold open discussions about aircraft operations, piloting skills and aerodynamics. Some discussions are about other aircraft, though all offer attending pilots, new and experienced, a chance to share and benefit from their experiences."

Turbine Pilot Base Growing; So is PROP Program

The challenge of PROP 2004 is to present fresh information, as well as to bring back the best from past seminars, to a growing number of new pilots. This year’s featured speaker from Honeywell will advise pilots on the TPE331 engines and their operation. Although the seminar is sponsored by MHIA, it is open to any interested party, and not limited to MU-2 operators. Historically, PROP seminars have drawn higher attendance levels than similar events held by most other manufacturers. PROP 2004 will be held on the following dates and locations:

April 2–3       Dallas, Texas
April 16–17 Richmond, Virginia

April 30 – May 1

Orlando, Florida
May 14–15 Scottsdale, Arizona

MHIA Aircraft Product Support Division provides ongoing product support for MU-2 aircraft. Support programs include FAA coordination, field service, technical publications, and spare parts. MHIA Aircraft Product Support Division coordinates with MU-2 Authorized Service Centers, as well as customers and vendors, providing support for over 400 MU-2 aircraft in service outside of Japan. (Approximately 350 MU-2 aircraft are operating in North America.)

Turbine Aircraft Services, Inc., contractor to MHIA, provides certain product support services to MU-2 owners and operators. The company works closely with MHIA and other vendors on a variety programs.
