Business Jet Technologies Installs 60th Stage 3 Hush Kit

QTA Kit Fitted To Gulfstream IIB

Business Jet Technologies announced Wednesday its 60th Quiet Technology Aerospace Stage 3 Hush Kit installation was recently completed on Gulfstream IIB business jet, serial number 16. Now free to access airports with Stage 2 noise abatement restrictions, the aircraft equipped with the QTA kit will also provide passengers with a quieter cabin than ever before.

Business Jet Technologies co-developed the design and jointly markets the QTA Stage 3 Hush Kit worldwide. The FAA awarded QTA with a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) in January 2003 that authorizes the installation of the QTA Stage 3 Hush Kit on all Spey-powered Gulfstream aircraft. Now with 60 installations, the QTA Stage 3 Hush Kit is available today for Gulfstream II, IIB, IISP and III aircraft and more than 30% of all the installations to date have been with Gulfstream II and IIB models.

"Our success is attributed to a simple lightweight design that works with the existing thrust reversers," said Kevin Jordan, co-developer and President of Business Jet Technologies. "There is no additional maintenance required because all inspections coincide with the aircraft’s existing thrust reverser schedule," added Jordan, "and the best part for our customers is we can install it in 10 days or less at the facility of their choice!"

As noise restrictions continue to increase at an alarming rate, Stage 2 operations into many airports worldwide are heavily impacted. The QTA Stage 3 Hush Kit allows these aircraft to access any airport a Gulfstream IV does and at a fraction of the cost that it would take to upgrade to an aircraft in this category. Noise compliance for the QTA Stage 3 Hush Kit meets CFR 14, FAR 36 Stage 3 and ICAO Annex 16 Chapter 3.

The company states fuel burn performance, overall range and handling are not impacted with the QTA Stage 3 Hush Kit installation. Passengers also benefit from the dramatically reduced cabin noise during take-off, climb and cruise through the installation of a specially designed and acoustically treated engine inlet bullet.
