Summit Aviation Receives First Bill Olson Award of Excellence

Company Credited With Saving Money, Improving Logistics For US Army

Summit Aviation, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, recently was presented with the Bill Olson Award of Excellence during the 2011 Cargo Helicopters Users Conference in Huntsville, Alabama.

“Summit Aviation’s support to units in the field has been exemplary,” said Project Manager for Cargo Helicopters Col. Robert L. Marion. “Summit’s efficiency in removing, packaging and shipping parts worldwide has saved the United States Army hundreds of thousands of dollars in repair costs and countless hours of aircraft downtime.”

The award is named for Bill Olson who passed away in May 2010. Cargo Helicopters developed the award in his memory to recognize a unit, organization, or individual for exceptional achievement in the areas of maintenance management and mission accomplishment.

“We are extremely honored to be the first recipient of this award,” said President of Summit Aviation Robert Fitzpatrick. “We take great pride in the government, corporate and private aircraft and aviation services we provide, and to be recognized by Cargo Helicopters in memory of Bill Olson is truly special.”
