NBAA Announces 2024 AMT Scholarship Winners

From Avionics Installations to 7X Initials, NBAA Partners Offer it All

The National Business Aviation Association announced the lucky batch of scholarship recipients in its 2024 maintenance offerings, granting a variety of courses, classes, and certifications to young members on the upswing.

Drawing from a variety of NBAA company members, the scholarships provide useful, accessible education in things that make a direct, easily apparent impact for students breaking into their lifelong career. FlightSafety International handed out a course on line maintenance for the PT6 turboprop, as well as a 5-day class on avionics and a handful of initials for Dassault Falcon maintenance. Gogo Business Aviation gave out a 3-day master tech and install course, Williams International a couple entries to its FJ Series' engine maintenance courses, and Abaris Training Resource gave out their M1-R1 courses on advanced composites repair and fabrication. All in all, almost 30 scholarships were handed out to the next generation of AMTs.

The NBAA continues to do such scholarships in other areas, too, with six-figure cash awards given every year in tuition reimbursement alone. At the moment, there are a handful of scholarships for students and working professionals still open for application, ranging from assistance with an aviation-related college degree to a plethora of niche flight certifications and training courses. Generally, working scholarships allow for an annual disbursement, with application windows always giving no less than 30 days to apply. There are other avenues aside from strict flight and AMT subjects, too, like the Cheri Rudd Memorial Scholarship that focuses on professional training with a customer service focus. The back office folks can get in on the fun(ds) too, with things like the "Leadership Conference Scholarship" and the "Schedulers and Dispatchers Monetary Scholarship" helping them get ahead.
