Airborne-Flight Training 12.16.21: JetBlue Hiring, Spartan College, Pan Am FA

Also: EAA-AMA Museum Coop, Flight Design F2, Air Force Policy, IFALPA Applauds

Jetblue announced its new hiring pipeline, JetBlue Gateways.

The initiative is designed to meet the growing need for aviation professionals from aviators to AMT's, that come from backgrounds other than the common straight, white male that has formed the base of the aviation industry. The program focuses on offering "a range of pathways  into the industry, while also opening the door to more candidates from underrepresented communities, including women and people of color." The Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology announced its recent addition of an Aviation Maintenance Technician Pathway with Skywest Airlines. The partnership will allow aspirant techs to get a leg up on their career as commercial aviation A&P technicians. Students who join the program qualify for certain benefits, offering mentoring by more experienced mechanics, earlier seniority than street hires, up to $4,500 in education assistance, and a guaranteed job interview after graduation. Pan Am Flight Academy announced the expansion of their flight school, opening up a separate location to house its 8 flight simulators in a single story, 67,700 square-foot facility in the first quarter of 2022. The new location will sport 22 separate simulator bays, which, when counted alongside their initial Miami International Airport location, brings their full potential capacity to 36 simulators total. Currently, even with their most recent buys, they operate 20 simulators of various levels across its 3 Florida locations. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
