EASA Plans High Level Conference On Drones At Amsterdam Drone Week

Stakeholders Will Discuss A Variety Of Topics Related To The Industry

A High Level Conference on Drones is planned for November 27th – 28th at RAI Amsterdam. This time the conference will be hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and set during the launch of the first Amsterdam Drone Week bringing together regulatory bodies and industry experts from all around the world.

European drone experts, policy makers and leading companies in the drone industry will discuss future applications, the development of U-space as well as regulation needs related to safety, security and privacy.

According to the conference website, this immersive two-day meeting is filled with panel discussions by leading experts, policy makers and companies in the unmanned aviation community.

Various themes will focus on the development of U-Space in Europe, new business models, regulation needs, safety, security and privacy.

Topics that will be discussed include:

  • The future drone market: What does it look like and how does it relate to the development of smart cities and smart mobility?
  • The state of play of U-Space: What we have done so far and what still has to be done?
  • The common European rules for drones operation: How do regulations help establishing a common European drone market?
  • Communication and safety promotion strategy: What have European countries planned to raise awareness for the new regulations?
