AD: Airbus SAS Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2019-11-09

PRODUCT: All Airbus SAS Model A319-113 and -114 airplanes, and Model A320-211 and -212 airplanes.

ACTION: Final Rule.

SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by a report that a life-limit of 64,000 flight cycles has been established for certain titanium crossbeams of the forward engine mount.

This AD requires repetitive replacements of all affected crossbeams of the forward engine mount, as specified in European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) ADs, which are incorporated by reference.

DATES: This AD is effective July 25, 2019.

COST: The FAA estimates that this AD affects 59 airplanes of U.S. registry. Operators may incur the following costs in order to comply with this AD:

  • Up to 134 work-hours × $85 per hour = Up to $11,390. Parts: Up to $23,278. Cost per aircraft: Up to $34,668.
