Evacuation Slide Separates From Delta Jet During Flight

The Slide Fell Into A Residential Area In Milton, MA

A man doing yard work at his home in Milton, MA got a surprise Sunday when an evacuation slide that had fallen off a Delta Airlines plane fell into his yard, taking out several branches of his Japanese maple tree.

Television station WCVB reports that Wenhan Huang was working outside his home when the slide crashed into his tree. He said it was fairly easy to determine what it was when he was "Boeing" was stamped on its side.

Huang called the FAA, which sent someone to retrieve the slide. It was determined that the slide had been on an airplane that was on final approach to Boston Logan International Airport from Paris.

Delta said that its flight 405 landed safely at a minute past noon on Sunday.

The incident is under investigation.
