The plane was reportedly on final when it went down short of the runway about 1300, according to FAA spokesman Jim Peters. He said the aircraft hit a utility pole, the porch of a house, and three vehicles in a residential neighborhood before exploding. No one on the ground was injured.

The Williamsport, PA Sun Gazette reports that witnesses said the 210 appeared to be having engine problems over the city. The pilot turned towards the airport at a low altitude, but was unable to make the runway. The names of the people on board have not been released pending notification of relatives. Airport authorities said that the pilot had contacted the KHLV to ask about landing and fuel, but did not mention any problem with the aircraft.
