Etihad Shows off A380's C-Checks

After 2 Years in Storage, Etihad's Biggest Birds Return to Service

After years of being packed away, Etihad has begun readying their Airbus A380 aircraft for passenger service once again.

The aircraft were stowed away during the nadir of pandemic-era passenger loads, when the high costs of operation vastly outweighed the utility of keeping the aircraft in service. Now, as things have rebounded, the accountants have given their blessing to A380 service.

Etihad Airways showed a peek behind the curtain, with a video illustrating a portion of a 380's C-check ahead of the noble steed's return to the skies. The aircraft are getting a thorough once-over, with everything being disassembled and inspected to make sure the aircraft hasn't picked up any bad habits while in storage.

The aircraft will once again act as Etihad's top-of-the-line flagship, boasting the highest level of service available for the airline.  Seeing the A380 take to the skies once again ignites the age-old battle between it and its Boeing competitors, for a time thought to be far too thirsty to be worth operation. It seems that notion may be incorrect, with resurgent travel and increasing passenger demand fueling the top-of-the-line Airbus once again.
