Aspen Announces EASA Minor Change Approval

Will Allow Installation Of Evolution EFD 1000H Pro In AS355

EASA has granted minor change approval (MCA) to Aspen for the installation of the Evolution EFD 1000H Pro in the Eurocopter AS355.

Avionik Straubing of Germany designed the engineering package for the certification and partnered with Instruments de Precision de la Cote Ouest (IPCO) of France, which performed the installation. The minor change approval covers Eurocopter AS355 models AS355E, AS355F, AS355F2, AS355N, and AS355NP.

“Eurocopter AS355 operators can now benefit from the latest glass panel technology with improved reliability and decreased maintenance costs through the replacement of mechanical navigation instruments and spinning mass gyros with the installation of EFD 1000H Pro primary flight display,” said Mark Ferrari, vice president sales, Aspen Avionics. The MCA includes an EASA-approved flight manual supplement and restricts operation to day VFR.

Aspen Avionics’ European helicopter supplemental type certificate (STC) and its certification partners continue to expand installation approvals for several aircraft makes and models.
