Light Business Aircraft Conference Coming March 12-14,
2009
The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) announced this
week that Cessna will sponsor the Single Pilot Safety Standdown to
be held March 14, 2009, in conjunction with the Association's
inaugural Light Business Airplane Exhibition & Conference
(LBA2009).
"Everyone knows that safety is at the very foundation of
business aviation, and standdown events are an effective way to
disseminate best safety practices and promote their adoption in the
industry," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. "NBAA is honored
that Cessna has chosen to partner with us in producing our
first-ever Single Pilot Safety Standdown at our new show, which
will be structured to address the specific needs of single-pilot
business airplane operations."
The information offered at the Single Pilot Safety Standdown
will draw upon the actual experiences of pilots, providing an
emphasis on peer-to-peer information-sharing. Safety-themed
sessions will focus on emerging technologies in cockpit information
and decision-support systems to enhance operational safety,
best-practices for on-the-ground operations, and planning for
flights outside the continental US.
"For the business aviation community, safety has always been a
top priority, and Cessna continually works to foster awareness of
procedures and information for reducing human error," said Cessna
Aircraft Company Chairman, President and CEO Jack Pelton. "We're
delighted to have this opportunity to help put safety resources
into the hands of single-pilot business airplane operators, who are
such an important part of the Cessna family and the larger business
aviation community."
All materials and meals at the LBA2009 Single Pilot Safety
Standdown will be offered compliments of Cessna. Event participants
are responsible for their own travel and lodging accommodations and
expenses. Safety Standdown participants must also be registered as
Attendees at NBAA's Light Business Airplane Exhibition &
Conference.
