Arrested UAL Pilot Back In Court Wednesday

Accused Of Threatening To Crash Plane Into Wall Street

You know the old warning, "Be careful what you say -- it could come back to haunt you"? A case in point would be that of UAL Capt. Robert Feneziani, who's been booked on charges of threatening to fly his plane into New York's financial district.

Feneziani is scheduled to be back in court on Wednesday, after pleading not guilty last week to charges related to the threat, which was supposedly made in late 2003.

A woman whom authorities declined to identify said Feneziani was disturbed "because he was frustrated that some people made easy money," according to court documents obtained by CNN.

Now, it's pretty clear from the documents associated with this case that the woman had an ongoing relationship with Feneziani. It was also clear that the woman and the pilot were involved in some sort of civil case that apparently marked the end of the relationship. The woman told law officers that Feneziani had a hot temper and was prone to violence.

So far, investigators say they have found no evidence that Feneziani planned to actually dive an aircraft into Wall Street. But, given the fact that he's a commercial airline pilot, as well as an officer in the Air National Guard's 107th Air Refueling Wing, they said they couldn't simply dismiss the accusation.

CNN reports the woman also told authorities that Feneziani was removed from ANG flight status "because of his inability to control his anger during pilot training" at an Oklahoma air base last year. There was no immediate confirmation on that aspect of the allegation from either the New York Air National Guard or the USAF.
