Aloft Technologies will
add stereo sound to the list of benefits provided by their headsets
in time for the EAA AirVenture Fly-In taking place in Oshkosh,
Wisconsin from July 25- 31. Previously the Clarity Aloft headsets
were offered in monaural only. The volume of requests for stereo
sound from existing and potential customers has driven this new
product offering. Technical officers at Aloft Technologies
anticipate high market acceptance of the product as well as
excitement in the marketplace for a headset that exceeds the sound
fidelity typically offered in an aviation headset.
"AirVenture attendees look for new product offerings every year
and visitors to our booth will have new features and benefits to
consider in the Clarity Aloft stereo headset", explained Bill
Waterman, President of Aloft Technologies. Aloft Technologies
offers free product demonstrations throughout the week during the
Fly-In.
One chief advantage behind the move to stereo is that pilots or
passengers with any sort of differential hearing loss could benefit
from being able to set the sound level of the left and right
speakers separately. The headsets will still have only one volume
control, but the levels can be set by turning the balance control
in a small recessed area of the volume control box.
There will also be a music input in the new version. This means
that Clarity Aloft owners will be able to listen to their iPods or
CD players in full stereo. In spite of these additions, there is
still no need for batteries and the headsets need only draw limited
power from the aircraft panel.
